Lauren & Drew’s March wedding started in their hotel rooms at the Four Seasons Baltimore. The last time we were here was for another Jewish wedding many years ago, but in the Fall. Fortunately we lucked out not only with weather, but with the sun coming out from the clouds and shining right into Lauren’s suite as soon as she was finished getting into her dress. The sun made the room and Lauren look even more stunning!
Soon after the first look happened on the terrace and these two young lovebirds couldn’t be happier to see each other. The sun continued to shine for us as we were finishing up photos with the bride and groom and the bridal party. Shortly after, the Ketubah signing occurred right before the Jewish ceremony. Having worked with Elle Ellinghaus Design on a previous wedding a few years ago, I was yet very surprised by the look and design of the ceremony. The room was flipped shortly after for the reception and the design was even greater! Kudos to this team of planners who truly made the rooms gorgeous and helps make our videos look beautiful!
The awesome first dance by Lauren & Drew was exciting for us to capture along with the traditional hora with them and their parents. And without fail, I shed a tear with the parents dances, imagining our son, Christian dancing with my wife, Susanna. As I tell people over and over, we love these intimate moments between families and we always definitely feel like a part of the family that day and extending into the many many hours I am editing their special day. We are thankful to have captured Lauren & Drew’s wedding day and pray and bless their union as a married couple. Mazel Tov!
Nancy & Kevin’s wedding started with their tea ceremonies in both their houses in Orange County on Friday, October 12th. It’s Chinese custom for the groom to play some games to be allowed to enter the bride’s home. After doing some challenges such as all the groomsmen having to hula-hoop together for over 3 seconds as well as eating some interesting concoctions, Kevin was allowed to see Nancy and they proceeded to the first tea ceremony in Nancy’s home. Soon after there was a spectacular entrance into Kevin’s home as he pulled up to his house with Nancy in his vintage Porsche. As they walked up the red carpet into his home, they proceeded with his tea ceremony and ended driving off into the sunset (or more like up the hill and down, during noon-time, haha).
And now for the grand spectacle of their beautiful wedding in Santa Monica. It was forecasted to rain, but there was just enough sunshine starting right before the ceremony time! As soon as they both got finished ready – Nancy at Hotel Casa Del Mar & Kevin at a nearby Airbnb, they decided to do a first touch and not a first look. Having seen my own wife, Susanna for the first time coming down the aisle, I remember how precious that was, so it was great to see Kevin’s reaction of Nancy coming down the aisle for the first time. After the beautiful ceremony finished and some photos being taken, the grand entrance occurred followed by their first dance. I love me some karaoke so it was fun to see some guests including actor George Chung take the mic. They then changed back into their Chinese uniforms as they wore the day prior and watched the Lion Dancers (Immortals Lion Dance Troupe) prowl their way in. It was a first for us to see this amazing performance and exhilarating to film! They then changed into their Cambodian outfits and heard some emotional toasts followed by the cutting of the cake. It was so great to experience this perfect wedding day between such kind people. Kevin & Nancy work in the medical industry and their hearts reflected this as they took care of us and made sure our day went smooth as well. It also helped that Kevin has experience with being behind the lens as well! Thanks again to both of them and we’re excited for their journey ahead of them!
We had the privilege to capture Juliana & Paul’s wedding in the most romantic city in the world, Paris! We actually captured the first look at dusk and the light was beyond words and different than any light we experienced (or at least I think, haha). But it definitely was such a beautiful light at that time. They then got ready at the Saint Petersbourg Hotel, with a brief ceremony at the Ritz, followed shortly by the reception. It was such an intimate time with family and the events from the cocktail hour, toasts, and cake were such a treat, literally. It was such an unforgettable time in the city of lovers and we are so honored to capture these memories for them! Enjoy the film above!
Mary & Mike’s day was definitely deserving of this feature film length. Their day started at the Hilton and transitioned into one of the largest cathedrals we’ve ever stepped foot in: The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, New Jersey. The elegance reflected and spilled out into the Newark Museum where fine food and dining along with beautiful jazz melodies echoed the museum. But right before the museum, we were treated for a special look and shoot into Rutgers where Mary & Mike met. These two doctors are making great differences and making the world a better place and it was such an honor for us to capture their union. Enjoy their Feature Film edit!
