Katelyn & Adam | 10.26.19 – Fairytale Southern Maryland Wedding

video

Katelyn & Adam’s fairytale Southern Maryland wedding truly was one for the books!

They got married at Our Lady’s Church at Medley’s Neck in Leonardtown, Maryland after reading their own vows to each other in front of Katelyn’s home.

Most Catholic churches do not allow for personal vow readings so it was their brilliant idea to read their own vows after their first look.

They have known each other forever and it was so beautiful to witness their heart felt vows to each other. They were able to completely tune into each other as if it was just them two on a deserted island.

After their ceremony, they had a grand and spectacular exit in their horse and carriage from Suttler’s Post Farm Clydesdales.

With the road blocked off for them from the church to their home (which was less than one mile), I was able to capture an aerial view of their entrance into their reception/barn (which is on their own property).

It was a truly magical entrance as the road into their property looked so beautiful on that nice autumn day.

After some portraits with the bridal party they had a final carriage ride into their barn for the grand entrance with some toasts, special dances, and dancing the night away.

To be honest, I didn’t know such private properties existed like this in Leonardtown! I wish my metropolitan friends can experience the charm and beauty of Southern Maryland. You just have to live here to truly appreciate the difference!

And I am so excited to share that we will be shooting Katelyn’s sister’s wedding around the same time this year!

Anne & Matt | 6.15.19 | Trump National Golf Club DC

I swear we have the nicest couples. Anne & Matt kept up this streak on their beautiful day in Sterling, VA. My second shooter was with Matt and his groomsmen at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. While I was with Anne in the nearby townhomes capturing details and them getting ready before the first look the Golf Club.

We loved the setup of the first look as Anne approached Matt near the staircase in the lobby. Something about staircases that always exude that classic, elegant look and feel. Almost like those old Hollywood romantic films.

After their first look, they took some photos and we were informed early on that Trump would be in attendance at his golf club. The couple wanted to take advantage of this time to grab a photo op with the president as he was apparently down below us eating a meal. Secret service told us we couldn’t, but somehow through some pleading, were allowed to go down.

So I didn’t grab my tripod because I thought we had to be as inconspicuous as possible. We headed to the bar and Trump noticed the couple and congratulated them. I think someone asked for a photo and he was willing. Fortunately with the ability to shoot in 120 fps and without my tripod, I captured some steady footage while having to be hand held. It made the cut!

Ceremony & Reception

Then after we headed to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church a few miles away and began the ceremony. I love Catholic churches because they are long enough where I can have enough time to get creative shots as well as appreciate the sounds and beauty of the images of God and Jesus.

One bad thing about the Protestant Reformation was that most images in churches were forbidden! There is a loss of art in Protestant churches that the Catholics have, but I digress!

Love him or hate him, Trump has a really nice golf course and we were able to do some portrait sessions out on the course for some stunning shots.

After, we had to setup for the reception and capture a little bit of the cocktail hour. There were some awesome toasts which really carried the feel of their wedding film and can see how much God had a hand in their meeting and marriage.

We also had some amazing vendor meals courtesy of one of Anne’s family members. Golf club venues apparently are not known for great vendor meals, so I was thankful to scarf down my lobster roll!

In conclusion, the reception continued into the night with the traditional events, but a not so traditional electric type of guitar instrument that I’ve never seen before during the open dance floor time.

We were thrilled and honored to be Anne & Matt’s wedding videographer. Thank you and congrats again to you guys!

Camille & Vince | 5.17.19 | Hangar 21 Fullerton California

Hangar 21 Fullerton California was the reception venue for Camille & Vince’s wedding day. It was such a special one, especially for my wife Susanna who grew up with Camille her whole life! Camille is in fashion and her artistic and creativity were on full display from her wedding dress to the decor.

We spent the morning reconnecting a little bit, recording their card readings to each other as well as them opening their gifts for each other. Lots of tears were shed in the morning from Camille as she opened her gift and read her card to Vince. Her walk down the aisle at St. Denis Parish in Diamond Bar, California was especially special and touching.

We then arrived at Hangar 21 and got so excited to shoot some of the establishing shots and area. There were small aircrafts taking off and landing regularly and wondered where the helicopter would be. The bridal party arrived with the bride and groom and they all started to relax and have some drinks and relax during the bridal party photos. These were particularly fun because of the mix of color and large party. Before the grand helicopter entrance occurred, we began our walk with one of the venue staff and they gave us some quick instructions on where to be during and before flight take-off. You can’t tell, but those helicopter blades swooshing around at fast speeds right over was pretty terrifying. Not going to lie. FREAKED out. But I knew we would get some cool shots, so definitely the fear didn’t stop me.

Camille & Vince definitely looked calm and collected and so cool as they walked out of the helicopter and straight into the reception patio, right before making their grand entrance as newlyweds. Their first dance and parents dances were too sweet and the rest of the evening went off without a hitch with toasts, cake, money dance, bouquet & garter, and more dancing!

We were honored to have captured our friends’ wedding and Susanna was in tears all day as well seeing one of her best friends get hitched to the love of her life, Vince! Blessings to you two!

Mary & Mike | 6.23.18 | Newark Museum New Jersey

video
play-sharp-fill

Mary & Mike’s wedding day ended at the grand Newark Museum New Jersey. But their day started at the Hilton and transitioned into one of the largest cathedrals we’ve ever stepped foot in: The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, New Jersey.

I definitely felt like I was in some echo of some similar cathedrals all throughout Europe. Truly grand and spectacular.

The elegance reflected and spilled out into the Newark Museum where fine food and dining along with beautiful jazz melodies echoed the museum. It’s amazing how planners and spaces can turn into such unique and beautiful atmospheres with a vision.

But right before the museum, we were treated for a special look and shoot into Rutgers where Mary & Mike met. These two doctors are making great differences and making the world a better place and it was such an honor for us to capture their union.

Mary & Mike’s day was definitely deserving of this feature film length. Enjoy their Feature Film edit!
