I’m Paul Kwak, a Washington, D.C.–based wedding filmmaker driven by a deep love for art, cinema, and human connection. Every wedding I capture is more than a film—it’s a story woven with emotion, authenticity, and intention. My favorite moments are the ones that take your breath away—the tearful vows, the laughter between toasts, the fleeting glances—because those moments are yours forever. I'm endlessly grateful to spend my days preserving real love stories in a cinematic way that lets you relive the joy over and over again.
Every frame is intentional, every moment is meaningful, and your story takes center stage.
- and it’s in those fleeting, unscripted moments that the true story unfolds.
I work with intention and discretion, capturing everything without disrupting the moment (aka you won't notice me).
During our time together, I am drawn to the unique dynamics and subtle details that create the defining moments of your film.
My childhood obsession with art and cinema led me to study film and media, and later earned me an advanced degree in arts and theology. That blend taught me that storytelling isn’t just a craft—it’s a calling.
I’ve spent over fourteen years and hundreds of weddings capturing moments that truly matter: the tears of joy from a parent that encompasses the bride or groom's WHOLE life, or the presence of beloved people who have passed. For me, there’s nothing more magical than turning raw emotion into cinematic art. Whether it’s a sweeping first glance or a candid toast, I want every frame to feel like you’re experiencing your love story all over again—but with the polish of a fine art film.
When I’m not filming, you’ll find me studying and dissecting film & your favorite TV shows, watching Premiere League soccer with my oldest son or watching our other kids (with my wife by my side) light up the world with their energy.
My favorite wedding tradition is the parents' dances. It never fails to evoke a fresh wave of emotion every time.
It’s part of what fuels my passion for emotionally impactful storytelling and distinct artistic vision.
I’ve appeared as a background actor in hundreds of TV shows and commercials. You might have spotted me in Blades of Glory or The Big Bang Theory!
Prior to working as a filmmaker, I worked as a Dominos driver, Disneyland employee, and I helped inmates get their GED. Each of these jobs taught me valuable lessons about working with people.
Paul didn't look at us like just another client
From our first conversation with Paul, we knew he was going to do great work. He truly paid attention to every detail and went above and beyond. Paul ended up being one of the best vendors of the wedding.”
